Navigating Your Skin Cancer Diagnosis
Newly diagnosed with skin cancer?
We’re here to support you.
When you are newly diagnosed with skin cancer, there are so many thoughts to process. It’s normal to feel shocked, overwhelmed, or even angry after your diagnosis. And your current feelings may change over time. Our resources are here to help you understand as much as possible about your cancer.
Learning all you can about skin cancer is one way to fight the disease. Understanding your cancer will help you make informed, educated decisions. That’s why we have created this website and the resource on this page.
Here, you will find a booklet containing Questions to Ask Your Healthcare Team. Although we did not imagine this resource to be comprehensive, we hope that you find some of these questions helpful guides to begin a discussion with your clinician. The more you know, the more control you can have in making decisions about your treatment in consultation with your clinician.
If you still have questions, we are here to help. AIM at Skin Cancer has an Ask a Skin Cancer Nurse resource that can provide answers about interpreting test results, addressing side effects, and self-management techniques. Fill out your information here and our Nurse will contact you within 48 hours to answer your questions.
